  • Position: Community Caseworker
    Location: Kamloops Women’s Centre
    Reports to: Program Coordinator & Executive Director
    Position Type: Full Time (Evenings & Weekends Required)

    About the Role
    The Community Caseworker is a frontline team member who provides trauma-informed, culturally safe support to women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals. This role includes 1:1 case management, drop-in support, outreach, program coordination, court and appointment accompaniment, family visitation support, and assistance with program promotion and communication.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Case Management & Direct Support

    • Provide 1:1 case management using a trauma-informed, client-centred approach.

    • Support goal-setting, safety planning, and navigation of community resources.

    • Assist with applications for housing, financial support, health services, ID replacement, counselling, and other essential needs.

    • Offer drop-in support, resource navigation, crisis de-escalation, and strengths-based guidance.

    • Attend court with clients for emotional support and accompany clients to appointments for note-taking and advocacy.

    • Help clients access groceries, hygiene items, baby supplies, bus tickets, and other basic needs.

    • Support court-ordered family visitations in a safe, structured, child-centred environment.

    2. Outreach, Program Coordination & Promotion

    • Coordinate monthly Foodshare pickups, organization, and distribution.

    • Communicate timely updates to clients regarding workshops, programs, and Centre services.

    • Support program promotion through client outreach, distributing materials, and assisting with digital updates.

    • Set up, organize, and support workshops, support groups, and community events.

    • Facilitate life-skills workshops and co-lead community nights and support groups.

    • Build relationships with partner agencies to strengthen referral pathways and client supports.

    3. Program Evaluation & Organizational Support

    • Work with the Program Coordinator and Director to evaluate programs, gather feedback, and identify improvements.

    • Assist with documentation, reporting, and data collection related to client outcomes and service delivery.

    • Maintain confidentiality, uphold ethical standards, and represent Centre values.

    • Participate in team meetings, training, supervision, and professional development opportunities.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Diploma, Degree or equivalent in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology

    • Experience in human services, community support, social work, or related fields.

    • Currently enrolled in or completing a Human Services Diploma, Social Work Degree, or equivalent.

    • Knowledge of issues impacting women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals, including violence, poverty, homelessness, and mental health barriers.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a trauma-informed, culturally safe approach.

    • Ability to facilitate groups and engage diverse participants.

    • Experience in case management, case planning, application & referral support

    • Ability to build community relationships with other service providers

    • Experience in outreach or program promotion is an asset.

    • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

    • Ability to lift and transport food hampers and supplies.

    • Comfort supporting supervised or structured family visitations.

    Additional Assets

    • Experience in a women’s centre, shelter, or community-based organization.

    • Knowledge of regional service networks across the Interior.

    • Training in crisis intervention, mental health first aid, or anti-violence work.

    • Bilingualism is an asset.

  • Position: Community Educator
    Location: Kamloops Women’s Centre (Hybrid: Onsite & Community-Based)

    Position Type: 16-Week Full-Time Contract (Evenings & Weekends Required)

    About the Role

    The Community Educator develops, coordinates, and delivers educational programming at the Women’s Centre and in the broader community. Using a culturally sensitive and feminist lens, this role engages diverse audiences on women’s social determinants of health, mental health and wellness, consent, gender-based violence, financial literacy, women in leadership, our Girls of Tomorrow Program and other women-related topics.

    The role includes leading community engagement initiatives, such as booth opportunities, outreach events, and promotion of the Centre’s programs and advocacy work. The Community Educator also supports the SHE Speaks Podcast as a guest speaker and encourages community contributions to the Centre Blog. This hybrid role requires evenings, weekends, and flexibility to meet program and community needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Coordination & Facilitation

    • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Table Talks with guest speakers and independently when needed.

    • Deliver educational programming in the community on women’s topics.

    • Develop and implement the Girls of Tomorrow Workshop, focusing on youth development, identity, consent, and self-esteem.

    • Support the Legal Education Series in partnership with Okanagan Thompson Legal Clinic and TNRD.

    • Support the training and supervision of education facilitators

    Community Engagement & Outreach

    • Lead community engagement and booth opportunities, educating the public on women’s topics & the women’s centres' advocacy work.

    • Research, register, and coordinate participation in community events, festivals, and engagement opportunities in collaboration with the Director of Programs.

    • Support opportunities for guest lecturing & speaking engagements as a Women’s Centre Representative

    • Represent the Centre at outreach events and build relationships with partners.

    • Participate in the SHE Speaks Podcast and encourage contributions to the Blog.

    Program Development & Evaluation

    • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and Director to evaluate programs, gather feedback, and identify improvements.

    • Contribute to educational content, promotional materials, and resources.

    • Support the development and expansion of programming to meet emerging community needs.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Health, Psychology, Law or other equivalent field

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Experience presenting to groups or audiences.

    • Passion for women’s topics and education.

    • Facilitation experience is an asset.

    • Ability to work from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and feminist lens.

    • Strong organizational skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.

    • Experience in community engagement, outreach, and partnership-building.

    • Experience in program or workshop development & implementation

    • Experience Leading a team

    • Experience in Program Measurement

    • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and hybrid locations.

    • Comfortable representing the Centre in public forums and events.

  • Position: Front Office Administrator
    Location: Kamloops Women’s Centre
    Reports to: Program Director & Executive Director

    About the Role

    The Office Administrator is a key member of the Kamloops Women’s Centre team, providing administrative, operational, and volunteer support to ensure smooth daily operations. Serving as the first point of contact for visitors, this role maintains a welcoming, organized, and safe environment.

    In addition, the Office Administrator supports HR, recruitment, procurement, communications, and operational systems, helping the Centre run efficiently and cohesively.

    Key Responsibilities

    Front Desk & Reception

    • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, providing a welcoming environment.

    • Answer phone calls, direct inquiries, and take messages.

    • Respond to emails sent to Events and Info inboxes promptly.

    • Supervise and support front desk volunteers.

    Administrative Support & Systems

    • Create and maintain filing systems, templates, and organizational procedures.

    • Develop systems for communication, workshop and appointment bookings, and drop-in scheduling.

    • Support the Program Director with staff and volunteer scheduling, internal communications, calendars, and updates.

    • Coordinate correspondence, letters, and email outreach for Fund Development initiatives.

    • Assist with team-building events, conferences, lunch & learns, and fundraisers.

    HR, Orientation & Recruitment

    • Facilitate orientation for new staff and volunteers; ensure all HR paperwork is completed, filed, and uploaded into the HR tool.

    • Support recruitment by screening applications and forwarding qualified candidates to the Program Director.

    • Maintain volunteer and staff records per Centre policies.

    Operations & Maintenance

    • Oversee Karma Cleaning volunteers to ensure daily cleaning, stocking, and maintenance tasks are completed.

    • Ensure the Centre is clean, organized, and welcoming; confirm chores are completed before closing.

    • Notify the Executive Director of maintenance needs.

    • Place orders for materials and supplies through Staples, Costco, ULine, and Walmart.

    Communications & Collaboration

    • Work with the social media team and the Executive Director to provide updates for Centre communications.

    • Support internal communications with staff and volunteers regarding schedules, programs, and Centre updates.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Human Resources or Office Administration

    • Experience in office administration, reception, or operational support roles.

    • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong leadership skills

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Experience managing volunteers or teams is an asset.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online booking/communication systems.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, trauma-informed environment.

    • Commitment to fostering a culturally sensitive, feminist, and welcoming space.

    • Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends.
