You can make a difference by providing sponsorship to our programs that carry out supported employment, wellness activities, educational opportunities, and guidance services that empower women to help themselves.

Interested in getting involved and helping us achieve our mission? Then join our team of volunteers! You can be part of the solution by contributing your time, your talent and your energy to improving living conditions for women in BC’s Interior.

Our Community Advocates help women and community members access essential resources, services, and supports with dignity, compassion, and respect.
They assist with resource navigation and referrals, including food, clothing, transportation, menstrual care, housing goods, pet supports, and community services.
Community Advocates may also support family visitations, ARCH Pass approvals, peer support, HEART activities, and the coordination of Birthday, Post-Partum, and Holiday Hampers. Volunteers may facilitate peer support groups, lead our Monthly Tea, and help create welcoming opportunities for connection and community building.
This is a hands-on volunteer or practicum role for individuals interested in community advocacy, women's equity, social services, human services, social work, and peer support. Training, orientation, and ongoing guidance will be provided.1 Year Commitment is Required

Help our team keep on track, organized and be the face people see as they entre the new and improved Kamloops Women’s Centre!
We are seeking volunteers who are able to work a 10am - 3pm shift.
Duties will include:Supporting the coordination or our centre calendar
Answer Emails & Phone / Taking Messages
Support the planning of team building activities, fundraising events & dialogues
Support emailing potential donors & connecting with our business partners for donation pick up/ bin drop offs
Conduct simple filing
Facilitate volunteer orientations & manage volunteer paperworkSupport team members as needed for HEART Activities, Family Visitations and other needs for the centre
Maintain coordination & organization for the Centre’s cleaning schedule

As we move into our new centre, we are seeking volunteers who want to volunteer a few hours per month supporting the upkeep & management of our centre space.

Help us design and share our impact story, coordinate content and run our social media.
This volunteer will lead the marketing and promotion campaigns for our programs, fundraisers, and create more local / provincial engagement for our agency. -
Are you a feminist inspired creator looking to grow your skills in developing short animated films? We are seeking collaboration with an animator / creator to help us develop short animated films that shares knowledge, feminist education and tells the stories of women and girls in our community.
This could lead to a paid partnership, as we are actively writing creative grants to design short films for our Website, Social Media & YouTube. -
Our organization works with accredited universities to strengthen academic partnerships. We value providing an educational opportunity for students to learn about grassroots agency, advocacy and women & gender issues.
Each year we offer the following placements:2-3 Social Work Placements
1-2 Human Service Diploma Placements
1 Tourism Management Field Placement
1-2 MA Field Placements
We also partner with PhD researchers and academic partners on research initiatives that advance women's development, gender equity and solutions.
Corporate Volunteers
Interested in supporting our mission through a team-building activity. We are always looking for an extra helping hand at the Centre. We are equipped to handle groups of up to 7 people for a full or half day of volunteering. We will be thrilled to host your corporate volunteering activity and better acquaint you with everything the Centre offers.
