Research & Policy Initiatives
At the Interior Women’s Centre, we go beyond direct services to address the systems and policies that impact women and families. Through research, advocacy, and policy work, we amplify women’s voices, influence decision-making, and create long term solutions for safer, stronger, and more equitable communities.
Our Approach
At the Interior Women’s Centre, we use a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, meaning the women and communities we serve are at the heart of our work. We collaborate, listen, and learn from lived experiences to guide research, advocacy, and policy initiatives. This ensures solutions are community-led, trauma-informed, and create meaningful, lasting change.

The project aims to navigate existing services, identify gaps, and strengthen connections between health care and community supports, reducing barriers to care, supporting providers, and building more coordinated, effective women’s health services.
